November 11th is Veterans Day, a day set aside to honor US military veterans who have given so much to protect our country. We have many military families among our K12 community, including families and employees.
Military.com has compiled a list of ways for kids to honor those who give so much. Ideas include sending “thank you” cards, creating timelines, and more.
Many of these activities are perfect year round, so you don’t necessarily have to wait until Veterans Day each year to give thanks to our veterans, troops and their families.
Finally, in honor of Veterans Day, more than 100 national parks are waiving their entrance fees. Before heading out to your favorite park, visit the U.S. National Park Service website for ideas and stories to help your family discover, explore and share the history of our land and people.
